I bought a NES Mini for 100€ partly because of that hack only to find out it doesn't work on Mac and I have no access to a Windows PC

 

Same haha. On 3DS, you could at one point open any VC game, switch to the web browser, and inject any game from the same system into the emulator shell of whatever game you originally opened. Can't wait to do that on a system with no network capabilities/no way to be checked on.

Are those Raspberry Pi things hard to set up/use?

 

My friend built me a raspberry pi with all nes and snes and Sega games on it. Probably wasn't that difficult.

 

building a RetroPie has been on my to do list for a while. I need to just do it finally.

 

I built one earlier this year, it's really easy. Just go to RetroPie's website and follow the instructions once you've purchased the pi. I've mainly used it for snes, sega megadrive & ps1.

 

Don't you have to soldering and shit? I wish they'd just sell those RetroPies

 

Nah, you can buy kit's with a case, I ordered something like this. I then ordered some replica USB Snes controllers.

I'm so fucking hyped for Splatoon, I need some color in my life right now

 

I'm so hyped that this will be my first experience with Splatoon.

 

Yeah same, I haven't had a Nintendo console since the n64 and I'm stoked to pick up splatoon when I can. That game looks so much fun.

 

Splatoon ended up being one of my favorite Nintendo games in recent memory, couldn't be more excited about the sequel I also couldn't be more excited that I can finally play some Splatoon while watching TV and lounging in bed, since the first didn't have off-TV play even if the Testfires had me preferring the constant minimap/second screen setup of the Wii U game.

 

Splatoon was my favorite Wii U game. The Wii U was my first Nintendo console since the SNES (I had the N64 for a brief moment but I barely played anything) and Super Mario Maker is what got me to come around, but after that novelty wore off I put a ton of hours into Splatoon. It is what makes me want a Switch; I already have Mario Kart, could get Zelda for Wii U, and have no interest in Arms.

 

Mario Maker may be my biggest gaming disappointment.

 

I had some nostalgic feelings for 2D Mario games at the exact moment everyone on YouTube started posting videos of them playing levels. I bought the Wii U that game with Super Mario Maker but realized how awful ninety percent of levels were really quick.

 

Exactly, and even when you did pull off a miracle and find a good level, there was no collectibles or feeling of accomplishment to be had. If people were given the ability to upload a proper "world" with 7 courses and a boss castle, complete with star coins to collect, I would've gotten infinitely more enjoyment from it. I think their desire to keep making money off of proper 2D Mario titles will hold the Mario Maker series back from ever being truly feature complete.

 

Also, I went ahead and bought one of those Raspberry Pi kits that comes with everything. I don't want an SNES Classic anymore.

 

I liked Mario Maker a lot

 

I'm looking at some options right now but I have no idea what any of the information means lmao I have no idea which one is more or less complete and which one isn't

 

Yet not Yoshi's Island. You make me sick.

 

A few of my students told me they have one so I might just make them build it for me.
