Hahahah oh my gosh. Someone is trying to steal my identity!!!

 

I decided to listen to them today for the first time in a while. I will always love Gasoline, despite Daisy being an inferior followup to TDAG, gets my Saiyan blood pumping for battle!

 

I was, but I am back now, earthling!

Still think it's my least favorite "new" Brand New song. (Not including early era b-side stuff.)

 

I like it now more than I did when it first dropped, but I can't help but feel that some fan reaction is what led them to delay the album haha.

I really don't think that played much into it at all. I think they just didn't love all the material they had at the time, and wanted to try something different. The song did well on college radio, got a Pitchfork BNM, and they sold lots of shirts and records of it. I think more than anything it's just when the band sits on any music for a little while they seem to, from the outside, get bored of it and want to move on to the next thing. You combine that with their notorious studio tinkering (no real label or force over them to make them finish) and it fits their MO pretty well.

 

I'd love to hear all the music that they've made/shelved.

Daisy may not have topped TDAGARIM, but songs like Sink, At The Bottom, and above all Noro, still get me amped up.
