Nah, I won't. High Violet means a lot to me personally and is the furthest thing from boring.

 

This is like when people try and claim Bach or some great piece of classical music is boring and I almost feel bad for how ridiculous they sound. Almost. The other part can't look away from the disaster unfolding in front of me.

 

Bach didn't have power chords though, its so boring.

 

My last post was obviously facetious, but I find them incredibly boring. Nothing about their music holds my interest in any way.

It's like seafood. I wish I could like it because so many people whose opinions I respect on the subject love it, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Used to think a lot of Bach was boring, then took a class on counterpoint and realized how insanely talented he was, heh.

As for The National... I really like Trouble Will Find Me, but I've never listened to another album by them and I don't know why.

 

I've played a lot of Bach over the years. His lute suites end up being some if the most technical guitar stuff out there while still sounding beautiful. Also highly recommend "the art of fugue" by the Emerson string quartet. What an album

 

Yep, Art of the Fugue is actually mainly what I used to study different techniques in counterpoint/fugue writing, there's wild stuff there.

 

It's a cool work.. basically his children were starting to move away from the fugue and counterpoint and this was Bach basically saying before he died... no, this is how you do it and showing the endless capabilities one can make on one theme

 

Yeah, it seriously blew my mind to see how much he was able to do with a pretty simple subject.

 

Bach put out a lot more music than brand new haha. Okay I'll stop

 

Man like I get that opinions are subjective and stuff, but like The National are on a different level. Emotionally they just destroy me
