x infinity forever and ever

 

I'm probably gonna pick up Shantae for the Switch soon, I skipped it on the other platforms but I feel like playing a game like that now and the Switch seems like its natural home

 

I was planning to buy Rayman Legends on wii u because I've never played but it appears it's getting a switch port.

Day 1 buy then.

 

Picked up RPG Maker Fes. It's missing all of the DLC on day one. I'll stick with Fire Emblem Echoes til they patch it.

 

I need to go back to this game at some point. I got to what I imagine is the final fight and kept getting my ass kicked so I moved to playing something else for a bit.

 

Yea -- it's a grind for sure. I'm 20 hours in and haven't played any DLC. The next battle for Alm is like twice as strong as me, and I have no idea how to level up to 1200 unit ranks without buying DLC. And I'm not even sure DLC will affect my party.

 

Have you used other RPG makers?

What I want to know is how deep it can get. Like I'd probably use it to make some advance wars-ish type of game. Or have a battle system that's similar to ff6 wherein the heroes are on the left and the enemies on the right.

The default battle system is too basic/limiting for me.

 

I wonder if i can find all the embarrassing anime crossover/fanfiction realm shit I made on RPG Maker like 15 years+ ago.

This is cute as hell. I think my group is too loaded with board game snobs to play Monopoly but I'm buying anyways.

 

this might get roasted here but I'm on board with a lot of what the writer is saying. I'm probably biased because I haven't had a DS since the very first one and even then I barely played it (my younger brother shared it with me). I know there is a massive library that I'm missing out but I'm personally bummed that I won't get Samus Returns on the Switch. everything discussed in the article hinges on one thing though, and that is either lowing the price of the Switch or creating a "low-budget" version in the future. thoughts?

Nintendo can give fans an amazing gift by slowly killing the 3DS

 

Nintendo is in the process of slowly killing off the 3DS. Slowly is the key word here. The platform is still too popular and Nintendo too reliant on the revenue it generates for Nintendo to kill it instantly.

 

The flow of games for the 3DS has already slowed to a trickle at this point. Samus Returns is basically the only major title coming out the rest of the year for it that isn't a remake of a DS title or a re-release of Sun/Moon. (and Samus Returns is itsel a remake of a Game Boy title, albeit one that is basically being rebuilt from the ground up). I wouldn't be surprised if little-to-no major 3DS games launch in 2018 at all.

It sucks because 3DS is still a great platform all these years later (especially the New 3DS XL). It's also a shame that they're phasing 3DS out because it really is a much better portable option than the Switch because of its battery life and the clamshell design that protects the screens. Another major problem they're going to have with focusing fully on Switch, though, is that they need to increase the supply of them. So yeah, they're in a tough position with regard to what to do next, I think.

 

Development is clearly slowly consolidating to just the Switch (the announcement of a core Pokemon game is the biggest confirmation that it's their 3DS replacement) plus the games it is getting are mostly smaller titles and almost all of the big stuff is Switch bound. It'll still be sold for a long time because it'll sell and there's no way Nintendo gets the Switch cheap enough to get in that ~$100 cheap handheld range anytime soon.

Pac Man Vs. is such a weird inclusion. It's cool to see them remembering that it exists (because it's pretty fantastic) but won't you need two Switches to play it? It's a game that is literally PERFECT for the Wii U though, shame they never ported it there.

 

I'm not sure if the name is canon with the entire marvel universe, but I'm reading a new issue of the punisher and they're playing a switch and it's called a Stitch.
