I like that Final Fantasy VI is on these, especially since the "remake" is pretty much universally loathed, but IV and V would have been nice too.

Mortal Kombat, despite not actually being that good, probably deserves a spot.

I never played stuff like Metroid or Zelda growing up, but we had a ton of platformers that are mostly forgotten and hard to have on here due to licensing. Some of them were bad (The Lion King had a nearly impossible level, Claymates was unfair, and so on) but a few were great. Aladdin is a lot of fun and The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse is very good too.

I know Tecmo Bowl was on the NES one, but I played a ton of Tecmo Super Bowl and would not have minded seeing that too.

 

The biggest omission for me is Chrono Trigger.

 

Didn't even notice that. Huge omission.

 

I was thinking they probably justified Secret Of Mana as the Chrono Trigger replacement.

 

That is like when a restaurant has RC Cola instead of Coke.

I'm playing MK8 Deluxe and it's reminding me how great the arcade Mario is.

I was playing that last week in Santa Cruz and we spent a good like $10 just on that game.

 

i honesly kind of prefer the secret of mana over chrono inclusion since ive played chrono trigger but have never had a chance to play secret of mana.

 

Great, another thing I want but will probably have to pay double to get

 

I don't see FF6 on that list - only FF3. Am I missing something?

Yeah I would've liked it more if it was Chrono Trigger. First game I'm going to play is Super Mario RPG

 

Happened to me too, 3 is 6, it's the fucked up numbering system that was different in every region

 

FF6 was called FF3 in North America when it was released - 2 and 3 never came out originally, FF4 was called FF2, 5 never came out, so 6 was 3. It's dumb.

 

I don't know why they continue the American numbering like that anymore. It has been called VI for twenty years now in every other version produced. At the very least put some sort of asterisk.

 

Maybe because they want to sell it to peolle that know it as 3, or just authenticity

 

admittedly have never played Earthbound so I'm definitely interested. also....

The European SNES Classic is even more adorable than the US version

 

I feel like these things are going to put a damper on any sort of Switch Virtual Console which I'd honestly prefer. It's amazing how good that lineup of games is though and its missing my all time favorite.

If Golf Story comes out soon that may do a bit to scratch the Stardew itch for me. Hollow Knight is absolutely killing me.

I'll probably check out Golf Story but it really just makes me want a new Mario Golf/Tennis RPG.

 

Earthbound is one of my all-time favorite games.

 

I called GameStop asking about preorders and they said they don't know anything about preorders yet. Guarantee when I call back later they'll say "Sorry, we're sold out."

 

Tomorrow Nintendo announces they're going to discontinue it

 

The Nintendo Everything twitter account is pretty good at posting preorder links when they go live. Amazon UK already has their version up.

 

pls don't make me go home to get a pre-order because I'm out shopping

And I already saw someone selling their preorder on eBay for $300.
