I would have been so bummed if it didn't make the record.

 

The National is one of those bands that I've always been told to check out, but have never gotten around to. Where should I start? I want to get on the hype train for September 8 -- help me get a ticket!

 

I would start with alligator and just move forward from there

 

I think I'd like to suggest Trouble Will Find Me for those new to the band

 

Pour a whiskey, go to a window, and stare out longingly while listening to Bloodbuzz Ohio on repeat for at least one full hour.

 

I honestly got into the band through Portal 2.

 

Really love Guilty Party, what a song.

 

see, I find that one boring and I'm really hoping it grows on me because everyone seems to see something in it that I don't. a few of these songs do next to nothing for me, and a few of them are life changing.

 

I think that's what makes this band so great, there's something for everyone.

not listening to a single track until release day. gonna be so glorious to take this all in new (aside from a a few listens of the first released track) from start to finish.

 

Exile Vilify was a song they did for Portal 2.

 

I beat, and loved the hell out of that game. Had no idea.

 

It's one of my top faves from them, that piano is so haunting yet beautiful. I remember seeing this cool mashup on Reddit someone made where they mixed the song with the sound of rain and had a picture of Chell just sitting in the rain smiling.
