Thanks I will give that one a listen for sure. No doubt about it! What did you think of Wooden Bones? I like it but not much as their other records but it did have some great songs on it especially the last two songs.

    Does Dead Man's Bones count?

  3. Wooden Bones didn't stick with me nearly as much as Into the West, but I still really enjoyed the album as a whole. I love the first four tracks and the last two tracks. The other songs weren't as memorable for me. Can't really recall what most of them sound like, to be honest. Might have to revisit that one soon too.

I would agree with that actually first four and the last two tracks. The middle was def kinda forgettable but overall as a whole like you said I did still enjoy the album. I don't spin it very often now tho.

seconding this... Monty Are I was great. Didn't know about the singer, though! Glad he's still around.

Also, Fountains Of Wayne. Several exceptional albums, shame that their place in music history is as a one-hit wonder. I don't think they ever broke up, but they haven't put anything out in a while.

    ummm...

The Morning Of... (as a lot of people have said)
Finch (every time they reunite it's anticipation followed by disappointment)
Candiria (recently signed to Metal Blade and will be releasing a new album. they did stuff here and there but 300 Percent Density came out in like 2003 and they were poised to take off in the metal scene. everything after was hit and miss... after their van accident touring pretty much stopped and so did what little momentum they were regaining)
Action Action (I never thought they'd be huge but their first record had potential, second went really dark and after that they disappeared)
Fight Fair (EP was a banger... then they tried to go waaay too poppy and I don't think a full length ever happened)

I also was bummed that Voxtrot fizzled out so quickly

Speaking of Finch... Buddy Nielsen just formed a new band with the guys in Finch.

This band just released an acoustic album on the 1st of this month, and Scott came on for a chat on this site.

Let's hope they can put together another album and keep afloat.

  17. Whatever happened to Men, Women, and Children? I saw them once at a super small club and it was a blast. I loved that first album.

  18. I saw them play with MCS, The Format and The Matches and I agree their live show was an absolute blast. They totally fell off the map after that one album.

I feel like they were kind of always going to be a flash in the pan. I have a copy of Decadence on vinyl somewhere. It's a weird album, but "Beating Hearts Baby" is still the catchiest song ever.

  24. Well, they released Popaghanda, and then a third album, but that last album was never released, for whatever reason.

  25. Anyone remember Bril? Released a pretty solid debut album in 2006 and then disappeared.
