  1. Ah. Don't worry about it guys. It's only technically slavery.

There isn't really much good faith discussions about policy to be had here with the further left posters anymore, sadly.

  5. As far as I'm concerned the best way to fight prison slavery is by calling it what it is so as to expose the brutality of it. Calling it "indentured prison labor" or whatever shit is doublespeak that doesn't help anything.

  6. I'm absolutely not interested in tempering criticism of capitalism so as to enable people who barely acknowledge those criticisms in the first place

So... This is just the "not all men" of racism, right? "only technically slavery"? It seems we should spend more time criticizing the technical slave system rather than people who call it what we all agree it is. Indeed, the best way for Harris not to be called a supporter of a prison slavery schema is... Not to be a supporter of it.

Please oh mighty David explain to us how to sugar coat technical slavery so that liberals like you don't have to critically think about who you're voting for

  10. Weirdly, we have to temper criticism of Democrats positions so as not to enable Republicans, but we don't have to temper criticism of foreign countries targeted by US imperialism so as not to enable imperialism. No, not at all, and even so-called "anti-war" democrats will happily boost both facts and vile, racist propaganda about North Korea, Syria, Libya, Iran, etc, which inevitably culminate in a pro-war neocon foreign policy consensus.

  11. I'm collecting all the straw men in this thread and making myself a straw army. Gonna have myself a strawmagedon.

Ironic David liked the strawman post when his whole argument is based around a strawman leftist

Totally unrelated but you came back right after I got banned and I'd like to posit you're actually just a sock puppet account for me.

We should say in depth why the problem is what it is, why it constitutes slavery, and what better ways there are to address the issue.

Not also say Kamala Harris endorses and defends slavery! That literally does nothing but encourages people to detach from the process.

This is pretty inaccurate, but even in the places where it isn't, it's more about policy interests and what I feel more well versed to talk about. Same reason why I don't get upset when people here aren't getting into in depth conversations of CSRs or community rating with me.

  23. Good metrics to know how the night is going.

  24. “In some ways, Trump is one of the best things to happen to this country because look at how many people are getting off their posteriors,” says Sherry Wells, the Green Party’s Michigan chairwoman. “So part of me is giggling.”
this is a dumb thing to say, but it's true that getting people invested in politics is probably the only good outcome of Trump's election. "part of me is giggling" is obviously in poor taste.
Stein is not losing any sleep over what might have been—in her telling, Clinton wouldn’t have been much better. “There are differences between Clinton and Trump, no doubt, but they’re not different enough to save your life, to save your job, to save the planet,” she says. “We deserve more than two lethal choices.”
I agree wholeheartedly with this and don't think Stein herself has anything to apologize for.
