Also, my girlfriends brother is a radio DJ and said blink's new music sounds good so far and he has mark on his show tonight. Not a whole lot to go on, but it's exciting to actually know someone who's heard some new songs haha

I completely agree that 'Everytime I Look For You' is a perfect summer song. It's serious but energetic and loud and guitar led.

 

I still love this band to death..but I really don't enjoy this whole process of how they are letting us wait and teasing for the new song. Of course, it builds suspension. But it is just not surprising anymore. I want blink to surprise me again. Like, just drop a single out of nowhere, like FOB. Just be spontanious again ahhhh..

 

They could be spontaneous if people keep their mouths shut and don't leak the information about the release date of the single.

 

The biggest music news stories are the ones that are surprises.
The label probably wants as much coverage once the single is released, so releasing "out of the blue" would promote that.

Look what happened with Kendrick and Drake. Although there's was completely out of the blue.

Like Zeke said, if the internet wasn't full of detectives/bragging radio DJs, it would still be a surprise. Blink has literally said nothing about it other than "new music in April." If that happens, they kept their end of the bargain. It's all the leaked information and us constantly speculating that is keeping the song from being a surprise, at least to us die hard fans.

 

Wonder if they've filmed a music video already. Probably not right?

 

I'm wondering that to, would be a good thing to drop with the single. They could have since they have been keeping things relatively under wraps. Might be doing a pro shot rehearsal performance type music video from there rehearsals this week, possibly?

Hope it's something like SR-71's "Non-Toxic" or "Last Man On the Moon" if it's really mid-tempo.

 

Wanted to ask you guy what you think in blink's discog is considered "mid-tempo"?

Hi-tempo: Sometimes, Pathetic, Heart's all gone
Mid-tempo: Feeling this, Give me one good reason, Going away to college
Slow-tempo: Adam's song, Stay together, Degenerate (verses), Boxing Day, I miss you, Down

I'm having the most trouble pinning down mid-tempo, honestly.

 

I think "After Midnight" would be a perfect example of a mid-tempo song.

 

Or maybe Story of a Lonely Guy?

I think blink had to walk a fine line. It seemed like they wanted it to be a FOB type release but because of the tom fiasco of never actually getting work done they probably felt an obligation to show progress with Matt.
I'm sure next Friday will be a massive rollout of a single, tour, artwork, track list, and release date.

seems legit but it's crazy to think that Dammit is only 115 bpm. Seems so much faster.

Radio stations are claiming they are starting to play it Thursday the 28th at 11am, so I expect the announcement wednesday or thursday morning.

 

Is it possible that the band will release the song before any radio station plays it on the 28th ?

 

I also somehow neglected listening to alkaline trio before Matt joined. Even if new blink isn't up to par (it will be!) I'm so glad this made me listen to them.
