I was watching the Big Lebowski today and totally didn't realize David Thewlis (Varga) was in it as the weird giggly guy

Remember when people said this season was slow? Wild times. Crazy next week is the finale.

I don't have to remember, it's still happening haha it's absurd. This is heading toward one hell of a crazy conclusion.

Think this was probably my favorite episode of the season too. That was wild. Loved the little throwback to S2 with the blood mixing with the milk in the first scene!

Also I really like knowing now that Nikki actually loved Ray -- she wasn't just using him. Low key one of the biggest twists of this season lol

That scene where Nikki and Wrench hijack the truck was the coolest shit haha. Final episode is gonna be wild.

  13. Yup. I loved Meemo and Varga's expressions when they just stared at each other back at the office. For the first time in the season it was kinda like, "woah, these guys are actually human" haha

I had the weirdest urge to check this thread despite never seeing the show and now I know that Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead star in this season and what the fuck why am I not watching this?

You should really start from the beginning, it doesn't have a continuing story season-to-season but past events get referenced and there's even a character from season 1 in season 3 now. Plus every season of this show is truly excellent.

Right? There's been a few times where I feel like you could see a few tiny cracks appearing in Varga's unflappable facade but this time felt different.

Something I've been thinking about after this episode too is how refreshing it is that Emmit turned himself in and confessed, even practically demanding he be punished and not treated any differently "because (he's) rich" when he was informed he was being released.

It's a nice subversion of the typical Fargo protagonist trying to weasel their way out of facing consequences ala William H Macy or Martin Freeman's characters. That whole opening confession scene was heartbreaking.

Just goes to show what I've been saying since the beginning: Ray and Emmit are not bad or evil people. They maybe be assholes to each other and willing to bend the rules to get even but they aren't "villains," which makes them way more interesting characters than they've been given credit for.

I've seen a lot of people call McGregor being on the show "stunt casting," which is just false. Like as if the other seasons didn't have famous stars cast in atypical roles for them or something.

When she tossed the (fake) grenade into the truck I let out an audible "OH SHIIIIIIIIIITTTTT!"

I was so hyped that I didn't even care that it was the wrong color. I was thinking, "Huh, that's a weird color for a hand grenade" rather than "Oh that's fake."

Idk. I'm still just whatever on this season. Last two have been better but I'm not nearly as invested.

I think if I had to rank them it'd go

    Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2

    They're all great though.

Need to wait to see how this one is tied together before I decide on a final order, personally. I will say, though, that season 3 has been way more focused than season 1 was, at least up to this point. I doubt 3 could be better than S2 though, which is in contention for the single greatest season of television I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

This was also my favorite episode of the season. Things are really coming together. Loved seeing another Big Lebowski nod (Nikki assuming Varga's briefcase just had his dirty underwear in it). Really curious how this is all going to tie up in just one episode
