Hook 'em Horns

 

Really excited for this season.

 

Dad's an Aggie but they were Big 12 when I started watching Auburn

 

I want to get into college football and basketball but i've just never had a team to root for, plus I really don't want to spend the extra money for cable or whatever i'd need to get the games lol

 

I haven't rented a real apartment since college, but State College jacks up their apartment prices for the college students.

My wife and I rented a house owned by a family friend before buying ours, and they gave us a fantastic deal. Renting around here is definitely twice the cost of mortgage payment though.

 

I wanna get into college basketball badly. And get more into college football haha. It's very easy to watch here though, much easier to watch college football than NFL in DFW. Go to any bar and damn near every NCAA game is on.

 

My roommates are from Houston so my A&M hate has been upped a little bit. I also now live in Charlotte so I now dislike Duke haha.

 

My favorite Texas college team WAS Baylor but they destroyed that very quickly

Now I'm a free agent as far as Texas college allegiance goes

 

Yeah I definitely would recommend to anyone who rents to try and find a private landlord (have to be really careful cause a lot of them really suck) cause you'll get a much better deal

 

Closest actual college team to me is TCU and meh

 

If I get into the NBA, it'd be the same way that I got into the NFL: choose a team that sucks and root for them as a joke and when they actually become decent, realize it's too far to go back now. Hence my being a Bengals fan.

However if basketball comes back to Seattle I'll jump on that bandwagon so hard with no shame.

Although I may just root for the Golden Knights because that's a hilarious name

 

I've only done this and wouldn't ever do it any other way.

My current apartment was continuously occupied by doctors and like, fancy businessmen. But the landlord liked us cause one of my roommates got along great with his dog lol

 

I don't follow hockey anymore and I only learned of their existence yesterday after I kept reading on Twitter people talking about the new Vegas team I was like who tf is that

 

I love my Mavs but their fans make me mad because they LOATHE the Rockets which is completely understandable but are completely okay with the Spurs dominance. Like what the hell. How in the hell can a self-respecting Mavs fan actually claim they ROOTED for the Spurs to beat the Heat and win another championship. It makes me sick.

 

When I'm thinking about grad schools (eventually), part of me wants to make sure I choose somewhere with good college basketball so I have someone to root for.

I went to UGA, and my wife is now doing her masters through LSU, so I'm covered in football, but SEC basketball is bad unless you're Kentucky or Florida. I root against UNC because I didn't get in there for undergrad, but otherwise don't care about anyone.

 

That's like a Dolphins fan being like "FUCK THE JETS but the Patriots are pretty cool, I respect them"

 

I went to college in west Texas and the Mavs fans I knew would rather the Spurs team plane crash than root for them

 

that goes with Rockets fans as well, cant stand the Mavs but respect the Spurs because of Pop and their culture

Plus it being San Antonio's only team, they arent really a "threat" to other Texas cities

We as fans are weird, i know

 

Yeah, before I bought a house, I was renting a condo from a private landlord and it was probably 30-40% cheaper than what I could have gotten from an apartment complex (and also better). That's definitely the way to do it.

 

I respect the hell out of those fans

They need to be in Dallas

 

Eventually gonna have one team for every NCAAF conference lol. Sun Belt and MWC probably not, but I've got the rest covered lol

Louisville is my side college team because a friend played safety there in the Teddy years

We got shitfaced with a Jags WR while he was on IR once, it was fun
