Also guys Branden Albert finally reported to Jags camp. Man am I relieved.

I legit was starting to think he felt so slighted by Miami trading him mid-injury rehab that he was just gonna retire, waste our draft pick, and we gave away Beachum for nothing.

Feel way more confident in our line improving this year, with both Albert and Robinson out there, rather than just the rookie and still having to keep Parnell at RT

I almost feel worse with Albert out there.

 

Not sure why? He's been to the Pro Bowl recently. Not that rare for a 32 year old LT to still be good

Hasn't played a full year since 2011. He could be fine but if not, we have Robinson's development at stake now. So we put him at RT all year, Albert gets hurt and now we have to move Robinson to a different position and thrust Parnell back in. This season isn't gonna be great anyway; moreso just concerned for Robinson.

 

Not necessarily. You know Albert has played left guard and right tackle before? If Cam was uncomfortable on the right side it's not out of the question to put Albert there, just because he has more tenure doesn't mean you don't try to get the best combination of 5 guys who all understand their position on the line. They wouldn't bench Robinson or hurt his development just so Albert can stay a LT. If anything that hurts the Jags cause when it comes to keeping Albert at a reasonable cost as well.

I don't know why you keep assuming Marrone is intelligent.

 

These are things he has brought up in press conferences.

Marrones track record really isn't as terrible as you make it out to be. He barely missed the playoffs in Buffalo -- but that's just what you do if you coach Buffalo haha.

I have more issues with Nate Hackett than Marrone though and Hackett is Marrone's guy. I'd love to replace our QB coach.

 

But that brings the question: What do you do if you coach Jacksonville?

Actually, I didn't say either lol. You said Ramsey WILL fall, I said there's very much a chance that he won't. Not that we won't get him but that we aren't guaranteed to get him. As for Fournette, you can't just ignore context lol. It was a dumb move before free agency cornered the Jags. They addressed every need they could've addressed at the top of the draft so the only option was Fournette.

 

You thought it was damn near impossible, I thought there's gotta be a trend/reasoning behind the fact that no DB since Charles Woodson went above 5. You might be okay to besmirch being "wrong" here but that doesn't change the fact that I stuck to my guns and argued my side, which you found highly unrealistic, until it was proven correct haha. Not saying it always will be, maybe the next elite DB does go higher, but I had reason to believe Ramsey wouldn't.

Huh? No one held a gun to their head and made them sign tackles, pass rushers and defensive backs lol. How do you know it's not the other way around? That Caldwell had his eye on Fournette the whole time, and that's why he filled other pressing holes in free agency to justify drafting a RB?

Because that was my perspective. Fournette is so special and rare for his position that it made the most sense to target him in the draft even though we needed other positions.

Actually all of this is incorrect haha. It was a bad point then and it's a bad point now. Cowboys didn't draft Ramsey for the reason I thought they wouldn't. Same with the Chargers actually. I said Chargers favor a pass rusher more while Jerry wants his runningback. Ramsey wasn't passed on because "no one since Woodson went above fifth." That's absurd and I doubt anyone thinks like that in the NFL.

I don't. And neither do you. So my point completely stands. It was a dumb move before free agency and the only move after it. That's kind of the point of free agency. In fact I immediately said Fournette is happening after free agency happened.
