I saw Safe to Say last night and they had flowers wrapped around all their mic stands and sprinkled throughout the stage in other spots. A definite hommage to Brand New which I thought was quite cool. Love that band they played a great set (it was my second time seeing them). I was a fan of Hiding Games but they got even better with Down in the Dark. Great record and def RIYL Brand New for those of you who haven't heard it yet.

Why do you like the coughing at the end of No Seatbelt?

Every time I hear it I'm reminded of dumb nights as a teenager, getting drunk in the middle of some golf course while listening to Brand New on some cheap tinny speakers. Which usually ran out of battery life within an hour. I used to think that was such a cool way to end a song. The same goes for the vinyl skipping at the end of Soco.

I actually think you're spot on here. IMO there's a big difference in Brand New fandom between those of us that are older (30s) and kind of "grew up" with Brand New; and others that are younger and heard their music later on - who kind of got their whole catalog at once and didn't really get to appreciate the progression. The YFW to Deja leap was huge to us back then, (well, to me at least) because there really wasn't anything like it at the time. I don't disagree that Devil is a huge leap (and overall, a better album) but Deja will always be my favorite BN album.

And I still don't understand the belief that the 1975 are better, but to each their own!

Hi thread. So, if anyone of you ever played Runescape growing up... You need to search "Emos of runescape" on Facebook. You will die.

So I have an original issue TDAG that is red. I can’t find it in Discogs. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't think there was a red original pressing? Sure it's not a repress?

Original pressing definitely didn't have red.

(because I would've bought it. Haha)

Didn't realize the record I have is one of 200 though, so that's cool!

Edit: pretty sure it's a first pressing tho. I can't remember ha. It's honestly insane how many colored pressings there are of this LP.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

The suspense and apathy are raging inside me > dazed > deja intended > your favorite waiting

Something about this ranking doesn't look right. Oh well, when the new album drops it will have to be redone anyway. *eye twitches*

I literally tried the same thing. She felt it was too stripper-ish.

This is exactly how I was feeling the day Deja came out and I popped it into my car's CD player. I literally stopped my car, looked into the booklet to see if it was the same band from YFW. I was floored at how much they sounded different (in a good way). Let's be honest, YFW was a run-of-the-mill pop punk record that sounded a lot like what everything else sounded like at the time. I thought it was OK, but I wasn't like a die-hard BN fan during that time...but then after hearing Deja, I was blown away and they've been my favorite band since.

About a year ago I started dating this girl and we started sharing music with eachother right away. I turned her into a big brand new fan. She once said "I wish I could just have brand new playing everywhere I went". That's when I knew I needed to marry her, so last night I ask and we got engaged!!!!!!!!!!!
