I suspect democrats will ask questions that will lead to sessions removal and republicans will mostly ask about Russia as their centerpiece because they love racists running the doj

No, I understand that you keep saying it, I just disagree with your conclusion.

But yeah, voting for Donald Trump is unforgivable and deserves a "what the fuck?"...were the coal miners not listening to what he was saying about health care? Well, actually, thanks to the dozens of stories and interviews, it seems they were, and basically voted for a "well hopefully it all works out!" plan. What the fuck? You went along with racism and xenophobia for a "hopefully everything else just works out"?

Joe would never have the balls to ask coal miners "What the fuck?!"

It wasn't even 9AM this morning when I had a guy come in and ask about property taxes and while I was talking he proceeded to fart in front of me rather loudly and then walked away

Well the post she quoted was in response to her response to Scott providing a link about coal miners and losing health care.

Literally the same thing I said a couple of weeks ago---these people don't get off without, at minimum, a "dude what the fuck" for their ducking horrible, awful, indefensible vote for Donald Fucking Trump.

I can still do that while advocating for better policies that will help same said horribly voting peoples.

It's pretty bad that I'm surprised how 'good' he's been so far in terms of sticking with the party on a decent amount of issues. Figured he'd be much worse than this. I guess when Republicans like Collins aren't all in it gives him some cover.

I don't think it's fair to assume every single person who voted for him was a horrible POS, some people were just stupid and gullible. To be happy they got conned and could lose their life is ridiculous, the former of those people could F off and die though. There's a lot of unintelligent people out there who voted for him without necessarily agreeing with the awful shit he brings but out of desperation for work, basic income, and something better than ACA. They were wrong but you have to understand that the reason that desperation is exists is because of okaying shitty centrist politics that help big businesses and billionaires far more than they help actual people. I know plenty, one of my friends (who is POC) has chrohns and is chronically ill, she doesn't have a bad job but she can't afford the rent in her area and is constantly paying a high price for insurance; people like her exist and even though I disowned her for doing what she did that doesn't mean I don't feel bad for her or hope she dies. She was desperate for some change, as are many.

You all probably could have gotten some Trump voters to vote democrat if you'd had a better candidate. I know that disrupts a certain liberal narrative, but it's true.

I don't think I or anyone else here has said they are all horrible POS's....but there also tends to be a lot of defense of these people here that goes way over the top, IMO.

ANd I think people here over estimate how much of this group makes up his voting base. People, especially Americans, are pretty stupid...but they're not THIS stupid. It was not hard to be able to tell what you were voting for when you voted for 1. Trump, and 2. Republicans. Considering how much turnout in certain red areas increased, I'd put forward that the uptick in racist rhetoric from dogwhistling to just flat out saying it play a much bigger role in people voting for Trump than just being stupid or gullible.

Right, but there's a difference between pointing out that these people got what the voted for, and being happy about it. People that are "happy" about it are, at best, being petty and stupid. There's nothing to happy about, the policies you wanted are still getting shredded.

But all any of those people had to do was read for 5-15 minutes to understand there was no way in hell Trump (and the Republicans) were going to do anything to better any of those situations. Beyond that, he was going to make them much worse. But we've seen countless interviews with these people that show where they are at at this point: The media is lying, fake news, Trump knows business, it'll just work out.

And as I said earlier, at some point we have to stop makign excuses for these people and realize that the increase in turnout in a lot of areas had a hell of a lot more to do with the racism and xenophobia coming from Trump's campaign than anything else.

And I think leftists around here like to ignore the fact that the Democratic party as a whole is further left than the policies currently in place. We definitely have the furthest left iteration of the party since before the rightward swing this country took in the 80's.

I feel bad for people too, and don't hope they die. It's still an unforgivable decision to vote for Trump and everything he stood for. The only change Trump and the Republicans were ever going to bring about was regressive in nature. And that's not even getting into the racism/sexism/xenphobic/etc. I.e. Single Payer...Trump was running as a Republican, hoping for Republican majorities in Congress. There was literally, no exaggeration, a 0% chance he and the party was ever going to push a single payer solution to health care. The Republcian party isn't passing a health care bill that massively increases taxes and government involvement in health care. How many people don't realize that that is where the Republican party is today? He just said it a few times because he knew people wouldn't bother to look into it any further. It's going to be the biggest and best health care plan ever and it's going to cover everybody and it's going to cost much less.
