Well he's wrong about MO, right about Lorde though.

 

I believe hes wrong about both.

 

Lorde is fantastic.

METN is my favorite thing this band has done. ILAV would probably be my #2, but it could change places with Simple Math pretty easily.

I'd rather not open this thread to see you, or anybody else, post about someone else using homophobic slurs and then to see you diminish the talent of a popular female artist. The whole post just feel very unnecessary and disheartening to read.

 

I used to love METN and thought it was hands-down their best but now I don't really feel that way at all anymore. Idk what happened but it just doesn't appeal to me as much anymore.

Might even grow to like Hope more than METN if I give it more time.

 

I'd rank the albums very similarly. Hopeful for the new one though!

god but you know its gonna fucking be there. i just saw modest mouse there last week and it was awful. also seeing tigers jaw there tomorrow and not looking forward to it at all.

I would love a remixed and/or remastered version of ILAVLAC. Listened for the first time in a while yesterday and the production is . . . not good.

 

I think the production is fantastic especially for a debut

 

It's so "thin". Not really sure if that's the right term, but there's no muscle behind the more rock tracks, especially.

And the Casio keyboard choir sound on "Where Have You Been?" would be laughable if the song weren't so damn good.

The songs are, overall, really good, but I think better production could elevate it to a whole new level.

 

definitely agree that some of the louder/aggressive moments would benefit from a little more punch, would definitely elevate things for me

 

I'm glad ILAVLAC sounds how it does, it's part of why I like that record so much. I think if it were produced with "more muscle" it would lose some of its charm, tbh. I also really love the choir keyboard part on Where Have You Been idk, I think it works for some reason. Like, yeah, it's obviously not a real choir but I don't know that they were trying to fool anyone with it.

 

Isn't the same sound used in see it again too?

Very pleased! Hoping I can convince my wife to come with me to Manchester or Leeds. What's the likelihood of these selling out really fast? I really don't know how popular they are here - are they you need to be ready to buy as soon as they go on sale popular...?!
