Catching up on NoSleep Podcast and I highly, highly recommend The Pancake Family from the special episode between season 8 and 9. The title is "Waiting for 9" and story starts out at 40 minutes.

The premise is that there was an unsolved mystery in 1994 - a normal family of six suddenly went missing in their home with little to no clue. 20 years later it was finally solved and the entire narrative is just the detective going on record, talking about how the murder was solved and what actually happened to the family.

While the script was already good, I particularly enjoyed the voice actors' take, the way the detective expressed fear and disgust really made a good job of intriguing the listeners. One of the most fun NoSleep I've ever listened to.

PS to anyone not familiar nosleep is entirely fictional

 

I had sleep paralysis for the first time in a little while. Thankfully I just heard my phone ringing (checked it when I came to I was just imagining it)

 

Anyone hear about this "manbat" sightings in Chicago? There's been a handful in the last couple months. Described as a deformed human with huge black bat wings. Kind of cool.

 

Creepiest thing that's ever happened to me:

I was in the living room with my ex. She asked me to grab something from the basement. The basement was to the right left of us. The bathroom was to the right of us down the hallway.

Coming up from the basement I heard her talking to someone. When I came in the room she looked like she had just seen a ghost upon seeing me walk out of the basement.

I said "Who were you talking to?" She said "I was talking to you. You came up from the basement about a minute ago, looked at me with a blank stare and kept walking down the hallway towards the bathroom. I was about to come walk to the bathroom to see why you were ignoring me."

Still to this day it freaks me out to wonder what she would've seen, had she gone to the bathroom where that unknown entity walked to

Slightly related, I've been thinking a lot about death lately, and I would LOVE to see a ghost and really believe in something paranormal. I used to have nightmares about ghosts and demons and aliens and stuff like that but now its just existential dread which is not nearly as fun

 

idk where I heard it from but there was this joke that you either kill your döppelganger or they'll get you first and I always wondered where that came from/how it was funny lol.

 

I had a pretty creepy dream last night. Was in a forest and these 3 women start walking towards me. They had a look that was a mix between somethingnout of a Japanese horror flic look and something out of silent hill, were wearing these strange but elegant outfits, got a cultish vibe from them. I walked towards them and one hugged me and then they all stabbed the shit out of me. Which as far as nightmares go is my least favorite thing

 

Close friend of mine had her parents and sister tell her about some paranormal experiences they had at their old house. Not really the people that would make something like that up, so that made it quite interesting. Pretty sure they're the only people I ever met who have actually had an experience like that.

 

I have scratches on my back this time. Not from sex. I prob do scratch myself when I sleep or something but I like to think it's a ghostdemon.

Childhood dreams turn into nightmares. Here's a clip about Mickey Mouse Suicide, it's a bit long. What can you say about it?

 

Saw a UFO when I was younger. Not something I can ever really prove (nor do I care to try), but it still sticks with me as a very weird experience. Was on the drive home with my dad at night and we saw a relatively large object in the sky. We sat there in the car in the middle of the road for a good 10 minutes in complete silence trying to figure out whether it was a plane or not, but planes don't just hover in the air, still as anything. Even if they're far away you can still see their motion, and this thing was a lot lower in the sky than planes usually are. It was illuminated by those cliche spinning lights you typically see on UFOs in films, making it all the more surreal and less believable. Just a goddamn flying saucer with spinning lights sitting pretty in the sky. My Dad ended up freaking the fuck out and drove us back home as fast as you can down a 15-Mph lane.

So that's my addition to this thread, I guess. Got nothing more to really add about the experience than saying I live on a tiny 9 by 5 mile Island near the coast of France. I might do some research into it tonight, because being reminded of that due to this thread has made me really curious to see if there were any incidents around the time (would've been between 2002 and 2004, I can't remember the year this happened in but it was before I moved house).
