Detroit doesn't have a good backup, that's the one I'm looking at. Also Minnesota has well... Bradford. Those probably make the most sense.

Detroit probably makes the most sense, Stafford-Kaepernick-Kaaya is a much better situation than Stafford-Rudock-Kaaya and they have plenty of weapons

Yea, rudock sucked. Both are late round picks also, not much of a loss. Kaaya or rudock would probably land back on the PS if waived, also.

If bob Quinn wanted to draft mixon, I think he could manage signing the opposite of him

Kaep has said he will end his kneeling protest next season. He has been nothing but incredible for the communities he's played in, his $1 million pledge has continued to this day, boosting charities and programs with significant donations and personal appearances. The camp he started has been heavily involved with urban youth. He had a decent season last year on a team that might have gone 0-16 if he didn't play. What negative press do you get from signing him? The only press about him right now is people arguing he should be on a team or people arguing he shouldn't be on a team. That press goes away the second he's signed. Sure people might continue to talk about him since he's been such a point of discussion all offseason, but the argument that teams want to avoid distraction goes out the window because teams sign players with off the field issues every single day, including rapists and domestic abusers. Reports are that money isn't the issue with Kaep. Nor is demanding to start. There is no sound argument to not sign Kaep. Owners didn't like his protest and now detest him. It's that simple. The only other active player as talented as Kaep who isn't on a roster might be Josh Gordon.

Weed and standing up for black lives, the two things the NFL will absolutely not tolerate.

But hey let's have ESPN hire Hank Williams Jr!

  16. I disagree with the media thing. But I'm gonna step away from this one since it's obviously a touchy subject.

  17. Since when has ESPN had any morals or ever done the right thing ?

I just don't get why Denver hasn't signed him with all of the rumored interest between the two over the last few months, he would surely beat out Siemian and Lynch

  20. Also maybe I'm a little biased because I never thought Kaep was that good outside a couple of years.

I used to be a Kaepernick hater but, like many think, I just think it's hard to justify not signing him considering what's getting trotted onto the field/as backup options for teams.

You think teams fear the negative press that comes with bringing on a controversial player?

Gareon Conway was a first round pick in the middle of an open rape investigation. Joe Mixon was a mid second rounder.

Sure, there's the argument that the upside of bringing on a controversial player who could be an essential part of building a competitive team is more worth it to a team than the "baggage" that comes with bringing on a controversial player to be a backup quarterback or fringe starter. But while that's likely a large part of the rationale, it's morally abhorrent. Especially since Kaep took a knee during a ceremonial national anthem and the other players potentially raped women/literally broke a woman's jaw. It's hard to justify trying to avoid media attention when that stuff is going on every day.

We are still so far off as a country because more people care about a guy kneeling during the anthem and get WAY more up in arms over it compared to men who rape/beat women
