Leonard Williams is gonna be the leader of the defense in a year.

 

He's already the best player on the team. From bits and pieces I've read over the past two seasons, he's really distanced himself from Richardson and Wilkerson.

Hopefully they'll just build around Williams and Jamal Adams.

 

They have no choice hahaha hopefully one of the 10 receivers they have breaks out also baha

 

Shady told Buffalo reporters who were at his charity event today that he's already recruiting Maclin and Tyrod asked for his number.

I'd be cool with seeing Maclin in Buffalo. I want to feel optimistic for that team

 

The thing is he's actually a perfect fit for the team's needs at the position too. Robert Woods was never going to get big production as the #2 guy because he wasn't a vertical threat in any way, shape, or form. The downside to that was also that it forced the Bills to use Sammy Watkins as the deep threat when he was healthy. I mean...that worked, usually pretty well, but he can bring so much more to an offense.

Tyrod throws a beautiful deep ball. If it were Maclin lining up across from Watkins, either one of them can hear a defense over the top. If the defense schemes the deep shot away, then you can run Zay Jones and Charles Clay on horizontal routes and McCoy out of the backfield.

Please let this happen. Maclin >>>>> Andre Holmes / Philly Brown / Rod Streater

 

Buffalo fans wanting Maclin is curious. Is mediocrity that sacred?

 

I can't see a scenario that buffalo doesn't have a top 10 pick next year, anything beyond that is kind of crazy. Signing maclin is a nice way to get bills fans hopeful and then let them down slowly.

 

....they've missed playoffs for 17 years and only been worse than 6-10 3 of those 17 times. Those years netted us Mike Williams (the OL, not that it matters, every Mike Williams has been BAD) Donte Whitner and Marcell Dareus. We don't like what happens when this team bottoms out, thank you very much.

CJ Spiller, Stephon Gilmore and Sammy Watkins have also been top 10 picks. They don't treat our team well

 

As the captain of mediocrity it's not a bad experience

 

Nothing about Maclin is mediocre except his durability.

 

That's the point. Maclin, when healthy, is good enough to win the Bills a couple games. It's very hard to get better if you only shoot to break even.

 

Let's take a moment to laugh at the fact that those three guys are from South Carolina. I don't think it's the fault of the draft position so much as it is the fact that the Bills don't draft smart. Watkins was just the flashiest guy, that's all. Wasn't the best. Wasn't even the second best.

 

People have really short memories, maclin isn't nearly as good as people think and Watkins was the consensus top wr in that draft.

 

There were people who liked Evans more IIRC so I wouldn't say consensus but yeah a lot of people did have him at the top of their draft board for WR

 

Yes but Watkins was the more put together player and people thought Evans was just part of the kingsbury system and manziel made him good etc. it's easy to say in hindsight because one guy gets injured a lot.

 

I said it then, immediately after, and basically every few weeks since then. It's not hindsight haha.

Also, has Kingsbury really done anything other than look like Ryan Gosling? I don't remember anyone saying Evans was a product of Kingsbury but I don't doubt it because people also said dumb things like Manziel made Evans look better by throwing unexpected, erratic passes, into double coverage. The NFL clearly doesn't think highly of Kingsbury. If they did then Mahomes would have been drafted in the second or third round.

 

TBH Jared goff looks way more like Ryan gosling

Goff looks like the mixture of Giovanni Ribisi and Ryan Gosling. Goff is still kind of goofy looking.

 

I think my point was somewhere in the neighborhood of "if they think Kingsbury is so good that he produces system QBs, they wouldn't have regarded Mahomes that high if they were attributing his success to his coach."

 

week 9 versus the Chiefs is like the perfect Jags game. A lot of players stood out, Ivory's best game, Lee and ARob were "on", etc. and the defense shut shit down left and right but the offense pissed away every opportunity imaginable

the halftime TD with 0:00 left on 3rd down to ARob was one of the best plays all year though for sure. One of those diagonal leaping, toe dragging ones, bobbled it and then got control of the ball JUST as the left foot hit


also Jermey Parnell is AWFUL.. He gave up 2 and really almost 4 or 5 sacks to fucking Dee Ford.

Myles Jack is literally faster than Lamar Miller. Caught him from behind with a 5-6 yard deficit when both were in a full 60 yard sprint.
