When the Jets signed Corey White a few days ago, I figured they were going to trade or release Calvin Pryor.

He caused some trouble last year in the locker room and he was becoming a full-blown malcontent after Adams and Maye were drafted. It makes sense to move on...I hope he does well for Cleveland.

Sounds like they were going to release him if they couldn't find any takers, so moving the final guarantees of his rookie deal is pretty cool, I guess. Not sure Davis will make this team, but he should at least compete at ILB for the third spot behind Harris and Lee.

Ravens CB Tavon Young has been diagnosed with a torn ACL, and will miss the 2017 season.

This really sucks. He played above average last year as a rookie mostly on the outside and was poised to have a great year playing a lot more slot CB. At least the Ravens prioritized at CB this offseason by signing Carr and drafting Humphrey.

I'm not disappointed. I know Pryor is disappointing due to his draft status, but he's still been better than anything the Browns have at FS.

Dropping Davis isn't any kind of problem either. I'm hoping this has them putting Kirksey back at ILB and Orchard/Schobert competing for WLB.

Yeah, this was my theory with the Justin Gilbert trade. I'll gladly trade a replacement levle player or draft pick for shot at 1st round talent, even if it doesnt pan out

Also, this led to the Jets signing Shamarko Thomas, who is the start of one of my favorite draft trades for nothingness.

Steelers gave up #83 in 2014 to get him. Browns traded that and #26 (that they got for Trent Richardson) to get Manziel. Eagles took Marcus Smith at #26. Trade #83 to the Texans (who take Louis Nix) and get #101 (Jaylen Watkins) and #141 (Taylor Hart).

So a trade that involved 2 firsts, a 3rd and 3 4th round picks, and nobody got anything out of it. I think most of them were off their teams within 2 years

And I remember being FURIOUS that Louis Nix went with that Steelers pick, since I had him as a Steelers 1st rounder in a bunch of mocks

    The rivalry is back on

Kind of interesting signing. Makes me kind of worried that someone on the roster is hurt, but hopefully he's just a camp body/a player to compete for the RB3 spot.

It's that with, outside of Peppers, an even bigger lol @ what the Browns have at safety. We'll see what happens at FS/SS, but his situation is very similar to Peppers. I assume he'll be more likely to try to succeed at FS than the Browns putting Peppers through that immediate conversion to FS like Pryor's rookie year.

Crockett Gillmore and Nick Boyle will be higher on the Ravens depth chart than Williams/Waller if they are healthy/not suspended. Sucks to see Pitta get hurt again, but the Ravens have a lot of average TE depth to replace his spot.
