Have you heard of Led Zeppelin?

 

Silly Dave, country is the exact same thing as rock.

 

Maybe asshole isn't the right word, but just his general vibe is really nice and genial but I can't quite explain it but with the Sonic Highways documentary it was like " this is what I think is important music"

 

I feel like I have to like Dave Grohl or I will be run out of my city bc he was born here. We have David Grohl Alley and the "world's largest drumsticks" and everything. People LOVE him here.

 

Comes off as a chill dude. I don't think he's a god or anything. Truthfully will only give a shit about "Everlong". Nothing else will really do anything for me.

 

The self titled is an awesome underrated record. The two after are good as well. Everything from One by One and onward is a couple good songs and filler

 

I don't really have a problem with him (or anybody else) doing the latter though. I think I understand what your point is (at least partly) but I'm kind of wary of negatively labeling someone's entire personality just for showing signs of music snobbery.

Correct me if I've misunderstood what you're trying to say.

Apart from Wasting Light, which is great.

 

Smh, Dave. The best thing the Foos could do at this point is make an outlaw country record.

Or, for that matter, a record in the vein of Chris Shiflett's solo LP.

 

I didn't know he did country stuff. I'll have to check it out.

 

Dave has said some dumb stuff like the "stripper pop" thing but he's also donated a lot of money to worthy charities and I think that's cool. I get why he's a hero to a certain generation of rock fans even if I disagree that he's the best thing to ever happen to music. I just really wish he would act like the vanguard of rock that his fans treat him like and contribute to the current cutting edge of the genre, which could desperately use the platform he can provide. I wish Foos would take Mitski or PUP on tour, or actively work to break that toxic "rock music is dead" idea that so many of their fans have.

One of my cousins worked a hotel in Calgary or Edmonton (I can't remember) where a lot of musicians would stay if they were playing a show there. He said that Dave Grohl was one of the nicest "rock stars" he's ever met.

 

Dave whining about the current state of music just shows he's out of touch

Haha ok here's an unpopular opinion, people kept hyping it up as some sort of comeback, but...I just think it's kinda boring. Doesn't really stand above their 2000's output

I'll let the likes speak. Me and the Moon alone is more advanced than anything he's done under jacks. But I know this argument will go nowhere.
