That's likely but Arizona is getting a lottt of new left wingers moving there lately because it's so cheap, some say it's purple.

I can't say I know much about US demographics specifically so you probably know better than I do. I just know John Mccain being senator there spoke to me as pretty heavily republican, at least pre-2016. Texas may be a bigger worry (although I'd find that hilarious)

Well it definitely was for awhile but younger people and the movement of people leaving and the folks coming effect demographics. Texas would be much more split if it wasn't for all the voter suppression stopping people. At least you know a little, I don't have a ton of knowledge of how area demographics work there.

You can pretty much extrapolate US political regions and use them here pretty effectively. Rural areas go to the right, metropolitan areas go to the left. The only outlying area is the north of England in general which has been pretty heavily Labour up until Brexit despite being mostly rural.

Can vouch for this, I am a left winger who moved to AZ cause it was cheap

Reading the actual margin of error doesn't fill me with confidence. Both Labour and Conservatives have distanced themselves from it. It will be interesting how this turns out.

I feel like we're heading into familiar territory. Last GE, everyone was predicting a hung parliament and the polls were wrong with the small Conservative majority. During the EU referendum the polls were predicting a remain win and they were wrong. Now we're adding even more complicated maths and predicting things with a massive margin of error... what can go wrong?!

All this to say: I'll believe it when I see it!

Corbyn will be taking part in the BBC debate tonight.

I think that's a good move for him. It will look odd that May is not there.

It would have been a better move for him if he'd have committed to it initially, and not on the morning of. But yes, it will reflect badly on May.

Agree, I'm certainly sceptical but given where we've come from which was a 24 point lead this is more a sign that Labour is moving in the right direction. The psephology has been tweaked since 2015, so it should in theory be more accurate, but I'd still take it with a bucket of salt, yeah. I guess the idea we could have a government of a potential progressive alliance has me so excited.

I'm not watching the debate as I've had a crap enough day without topping it off by getting angry at politicians but it's nice to see it's going well for Rudd.

It's a bit of a reminder why 7 way debates don't work. Lots of people with fundamentally good policies (and 2 shit ones) but not enough time or space for them to really talk about them.

Yeah, it's hard when they all start talking over each other.

Yeah I kind of figured that would happen, 7 people is way too many for something like that to work.

I'm enjoying it though. Good TV at the very least (for a politics geek anyway!)

Agreed! Glad there isn't much infighting between the progressive parties. The tories are getting hit hard.

Overall there I think we had a Conservative and UKIP loss, really strong performances from Plaid, SNP and Greens and generally speaking Corbyn and Farron not making much of the debates. I think that works for Corbyn, all he needed was to show up and not stumble, but it's a little disappointing not to see him make any standout points.

Farron was on form with some top notch bants.

That line at the end was stellar, but many of the points he made had already been made and seemed more cutting when they came from Leanne Wood and Caroline Lucas, in my mind.

Yeah, I only got to watch the last 20 minutes as I realised it was streaming on Twitter (cos I'm a student without a TV license). So I missed most of it, so I'll take your word for it. Just saw a lot of digs on Theresa May not bothering to show up and that's good enough for me, lol.
