Hey man, they put on a great show! I don't think their albums capture their energy at all though.

 

i think dealer was meant to be a bit more subdued and nuanced than the albatross, which was pretty raw but their songwriting was still developing and they were finding their voice. dealer is one of my favorite albums of all time but i think the next album is gonna be where they really hit their peak

 

I'll give you there's a strain of his songs that are awful in that regard ("Don't" comes to mind) but it's not that big a percentage of his stuff, imo.

Some of Sheeren's lyrics make me feel a little bit icky, but I like a few of his songs. Overall, I find it difficult to care about him strongly in any way.
