Thanks the old gods and the new, as well as, the lord of light that he no longer performs live.

 

I was talking to a guy who is in a band that toured with Blink once, and he said that his strongest memory of Tom was that his lips were stained red from wine like every single night of the tour. Like, never not drunk. That's how you end up with Tom barely hitting notes and fucking up even the easiest of riffs.

 

I don't even want to know why. I'd rather remain blissfully ignorant haha.

 

Man, poor guy.

I can't cite it but I always remember Tom citing "touring life" as a big reason why he wanted to go on hiatus. Never knew how deep in he was.

 

There's that story about the time that he and Travis smoked way too much weed with Cypress Hill before a show too. But that's actually pretty funny...

Tom's history will pills is not good either. I hope he's happy and sober these days, or at least keeps those things in check. I don't even know what he sounds like at live shows with AVA these days. Has he improved??

 

It's kind of like who is your least favourite child.
But either Go or Easy Target. Not including interludes

 

I just find it so straightforward that it kinda bugs me. da da da da da (feelin this!) da da da da da (feeling this!), the whole thing is just silly to me. I still enjoy it, but it just feels like a step back creatively from the previous album and every single song to follow

 

Given the awesome percussion and wonderful vocal melodies and harmonies and just top notch production I don't see that at all

 

the verse was always a huge turn off for me, one of the main reasons I disliked the song and a lot of untitled. However the chorus in Feeling This was good enough to overcome the weak verse and mediocre bridge.

 

I'm talking song structure mostly, production and technical ability isn't a part of what I am talking about.

 

That's my opinion too. I really don't think much for the verses.
But once "fate fell short" kicks in it makes it all worth it. And the ending when both vocal lines overlap.... Mmmm

 

Verse-Chorus-Verse structure? Because that's like, all Enema through Untitled blink-182. Or is it the structure and delivery of the lyrics? I actually really like it and think it absolutely shows a step forward creatively, as Tom's straight up yelling, which they hadn't done before, and the high-energy, high-aggression of the verse juxtaposes with the melodic, subdued chorus. I'm not trying to convince you to like it, I don't quite understand your specific criticisms.

 

I don't think you're gonna get it unless you are standing here as we listen to the song, and that's fine. I think the song is just one of the most Blink-by-numbers songs they can make, and following TOYPAJ I was bummed when I heard that as the lead single

 

Asthenia is my least favorite definitely.

 

Partially. I don't find it to be a very interesting or enjoyable song as a whole, and while I respect The Cure, I've never been crazy about Smith's voice.

 

I'm with you. I've always hated the "I'm Feeling This!" From Mark. Totally silly. I also hate the verses to violence so much.

 

he hasn't played a show since his last one with blink. AVA hasn't played a show since 2012.

 

I'm honestly kind of surprised Tom doesn't get AVA back together just for like a festival or something. But, whatever, no big deal. He doesn't want to play smaller shows, so a festival would be a good way to avoid doing that.

 

i doubt that it's because he doesn't want to play small shows. it's either because he's afraid of the backlash he'll get (think reading&leeds 2007) or, most likely, because he just doesn't want to tour anymore. whenever he was touring with blink he'd keep mentioning how much he was missing home

 

Every song on Untitled is amazing, but I guess All of This would be ranked last if I had to.

I can never get over how good that album is through and through. I get surprised when the next track comes on and I'm like "what?! How are all these songs that good??"

 

Just realized I had never heard the uncensored version of that album because I bought it from Wal-Mart when I was 8. Definitely some weird differences, like the beginning of the chorus of Here's Your Letter.

 

Would you have liked that song if it came with the original lyrics of "sixteen, I wanna be different, I wanna be different, apart from you.."?
