I would've loved Good Old Days in place of She's Out Of Her Mind on the original album. I don't mind Kings Or Satellites but I left them off my 15 track remix lol. No Future through Satellites really drags sometimes and kinda ruins HISALP. I love HISALP a lot more since I made my own tracklisting.

 

Yeah....Last Train Home is a song that should have been on that album no matter what. I don't understand that one at all. I think that is a total Skiba song too.

 

I love "Last Train Home" - I have one tiny thing that irks me though. Mark's verse says "SEAsick from the years we've passed. Drift at SEA with no one left to rescue" I felt like he could have done something to avoid saying "sea" in both of those lines. Very minor complaint though. haha.

 

I love No Future and HISALP though lol

 

No Future isn't in my top 20 from the deluxe but I don't dislike it lol. I always liked Home, just where it is on Cali, just don't think it was ideal

I've listened to this playlist a lot and it works great for me. I like Home a lot better between those two songs.

The chorus to Good Old Days REALLY reminds me of something. Anyone know what?

 

At this point, I'm more interested in hearing what Tom puts out next than more new Blink music, if they use Feldmann again. That's weird.

 

Tom would still be like #500 on my most anticipated lol

 

Idk but I love that chorus.....hm the middle maybe?

 

I can see why they left Last Train Home off California, it just doesn't really fit with the rest of the songs on that album, it would feel kind of out of place. Much like why they left 6/8 off.

 

well yeah, i just mean as far as Blink and Tom goes, i think i would rather hear new Tom stuff right now.

 

I dunno, as much as I'd love Tom to make interesting music again he's put out like, 8 releases in a row since 2007 that were mediocre to abysmal. Unless he's really shaking things up and trying new things, you basically know what you're going to get from him until proven otherwise. Same with Feldmann produced blink. Neither is all that exciting to me.

 

I liked the Chasing Shadows EP and that's his most recent work. I think Ilan took him into a direction I didn't care for. Objectively it might be a "better" record but not for what I expect and, honestly, want from Tom. I don't revisit CS very often but I am pleasantly surprised when I do.

 

I have approximately 0% interest in any music Tom puts out these days

 

Not surprising (to me), but Deluxe will not debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Curious where it lands, though.

Remember when they said something like how Good Old Days was influenced by early 00's dance/rock vibe like The Killers? I don't hear that

 

As a huge Tom fanboy (don't kill me, I'm sorry ) I'm looking forward to whatever he's going to be putting out next. I absolutely loved the Chasing Shadows EP.

Tbh that Boxcar interview the other day bringing back up his "music school" quote pretty much completely turned me off checking out anything else Tom does in the future. Dude always ends up saying something that pisses me off, even when the rest of that interview was really good.

 

Kinda reminds me of Jimmy Eat World's The Middle.

 

Yeah its been awhile since I listened to Chasing Shadows, but I remember being surprised that I didn't absolutely hate it. I remember liking Overload and whatever the song was that has the "I'm a smoooooooth operator" hook.

I think I'm gonna throw that on right now lol.

I liked the majority of the Dreamwalker album, but most especially "Mercenaries."
