Yeah, there was even quite a huge fan push to turn the BBC to BAC, but Zidane clearly prefers Benzema. There were pretty strong statistical arguments for Bale and Benzema both to be bench riders to Isco and Morata this year. If anything, that depth is what saw them clinch the league and make the UCL final. Outside of Ronaldo, Marcelo, and Navas, the statistics were nearly even between starters and bench players, if not in favor of the "second string." (For example, they conceded less goals with Ramos and Pepe off the pitch, as opposed to Varane and Nacho playing.)

Kinda looks like Isco is way more settled in his role, though, than Morata ended up being. At the midway point, there were rumors of Isco to Barca on a free next summer because of how disgruntled he was being handled by Zidane, but he's been more prevalent since those rumors. Which is a shame. Isco to replace Iniesta was always the pipe dream.

 

Yeah, I totally agree. Mhki has been playing on the right and drifting, so I could see it working this way:

Rashford
Martial - Greiz - Mhki
Pogba - New DM

Greizmann playing as a second striker/ wherever the hell he drifts to, and then a new DM to do Pogba's defensive work for him and allow him to do his thing. Unless we severely limit Hererra and play a two of Pogba and Herrera, but I don't think that has the defensive nous...

 

I don't think Mkhi will be a starting player for us next season. He will have to step up a LOT.
