It's a great season, the two main characters are muuuuuch less insufferable. I was more impressed by the new Master of None tho

  3. I couldn't get through Love season 2. I enjoy Master of None so much more.

Master of None has higher heights by a lot but Love is a fresher, more interesting take on relationships

  7. 'Love' is unwatchably bad (turning it off is more satisfying than watching). Watch 'You're the Worst' instead.

Episode 5 was solid and 6 was really good, would rather watch a full show on Eddie.

Love is good not great, love Claudia and Spoonman tho

  9. I think the two shows do similar things and Love works far better on a fundamental level. Master of None is flashy but the storytelling and writing in Love--particulary in season 2--is leagues better and more interesting.

Don't understand the Love criticism. It's an adorable show with albeit really unlikable main characters and you can't help but wonder why you root for them.

Never heard of it but I'll check it out

  13. You're The Worst is a good show too, but I don't think it's like, a better version of Love. Don't wanna derail this thread but I think it's worth mentioning that Love's handling of intersectional addiction as a central theme is what puts it in that upper echelon for me, not the hard-to-like characters, and I'll leave it at that

ya I haven't seen you're the worst. I like Love a lot. The episode from season 1 where Gus goes on a date with Bertie still kills me.

I like You're The Worst, but I truly think the actor that plays Edgar is a very bad actor. I appreciate their attempt to meld the drama into the comedy, but I don't think they know how to balance it well. Most of the big dramatic storylines with Gretchen feel extremely forced to me, I don't find a lot of what happens to be believeable

By biggest complaint with Love is that multiple people want to fuck Paul Rust

Anywayyy, I wanted to share my love for the Thanksgiving episode from Master of None-- what a realistic and amazing insight on Denise's coming-out experience. Though I'm straight myself, my younger brother is gay and came out to my family in high school. It wasn't nearly as bumpy a road for him but I recognize that every persons' coming-out experience is different, and this one hit home on a number of levels. So great

  20. 'You're the Worst' just aired the best depiction of clinical depression. Ever.
The end of Wednesday night’s episode of FXX’s “You’re the Worst” did something truly revolutionary. In a touching, emotionally honest moment, Gretchen (Aya Cash) admitted to her boyfriend Jimmy (Chris Geere) that she was clinically depressed, that it was something she was dealing with, and that he couldn’t fix her.

It may have been the best explanation of clinical depression that television has ever produced.

Cash's performance as Gretchen, and her depiction of depression, is by far the most real depiction I've ever seen. To call it forced, or not believable, makes my physically angry. Anyway, everyone should watch the show. Season 2 and 3 are flat out brilliant.

Having said that Mickey is a better character than anyone on MoN
