Same except my date is July 1! I've never seen The Mountain Goats before so I'm pumped for that as well

 

Jason and John are two of my favorite songwriters and I've never seen either. Buying tickets/roadtripping to this was a no-brainer.

 

His closest tour date to me is kind of a strange call in terms of booking; Canandaigua, NY, that requires an hour / 2 hrs of travel from either Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse. No one really lives in Canandaigua itself. I mean, people do, but it's more of a vacation spot. Most acts that play the venue are more popular than Jason in NY.....big acts like Tom Petty, etc. Last year we had Death Cab + CHVRCHES that did pretty well but far from sold out. It's on a weeknight, no less.

Fucking perfect song.

 

Currently thrown off by Jason's vocal delivery vs. the live performances I listened to. My own fault for listening to them.

 

Just give me the fucking album already damnit!!

 

That's a really beautiful song.

 

I love how "live" this song sounds. Really suits the mood well.

 

This will definitely be used as a "first dance" song

 

This has the potential to be a song that gets so big that Jason gets fucking sick of hearing it haha. He finally wrote one of his brutal and raw earworm ballads that is a love song and not about cancer or having to pull the plug on your dad or something.

 

Wow. That song kicked me right in my feelings.

 

This made chuckle because of it's accuracy.
"...or something." Hah.

the thirds verse of this song took me to another realm.

and thanks for the reminder of that video lol honestly i think my favorite part is in the intro when he says "i'm alt-country troubadour jason isbell. you may know me from music."

 

Jason's scene cred is through the roof today. On Twitter he thanked Hayley of Paramore, Arun of Saves the Day, and Ryan ex-Yellowcard for their kind words about "Vampires." Insert joke here about that scene noticing him once he writes a song with vampire in the title--although I think he's tweeted about Paramore before.

Edit: all 3 of those musicians also live in Nashville area too

 

We've already discussed it for our January wedding.

 

This one is a little sad for a first dance, imo. I would have considered "Flagship" if it had existed when I got married.
