Great news

 

Excited for this, harmlessness is one of my favorites ever

 

Excited for an angry album with lots of Katie singing

I should keep my expectations low buuuut

 

think maybe August?? i'm excited, Harmlessness is still such a perfect record

I want dual male/female vocals on every song.

 

I remember seeing this band in a basement right when they released Formlessness. That was a great show and a ton of fun. But honestly, since then, the band's social media presence and irrational claims to have all police blow their brains out has really made it difficult to be excited about them anymore. I have family members who are really amazing people in police departments, and seeing some of the twitter exchanges to fans about that topic is really sad.

Anyway, no one is really in the band anymore from that time so oh well.

I can't get behind a statement that calls for celebration when someone from my family gets killed.

 

Honestly agree to an extent.

It's not going to stop me from getting excited about their music because I separate artists from their art obviously.

I just don't understand this whole scene of music some times, on the same sort of note. I'm more of a conservative person and I also have Christian views, you'd think in a scene where they speak out and say that they're excepting of everyone they would be but most people truly aren't and it's upsetting. Everything conservatives or christians say is immediately wrong. I don't agree with most of the liberal views but fuckin I respect them, unless they're just hateful or ect. I also am bothered by the bad mouthing of christians. There are and lot of stupid, rude, unaccepting, disgusting christians but if you're truly one you'd love everyone and accept them for who they are.

Honestly the relevance fell off at the end but it's been bothering me for a while.

Short version: Why can't we all just love each other?

 

The cop thing is a joke. If you think all cops are crooked then...

Fuck crooked, racist cops. It's a shame they fuckin exist but if you think that's all of them and all cops should "blow their brains out"... come on... lol

 

Yeah I mean, I love when information of an incoming album starts flowing. So I am happy everyone who is excited for their next release is starting that. I have a good memory from that basement in Keene, NH and always will. But, I just don't get how a band can be so violently aggressive towards a group they are making incredibly general statements towards. Saying all cops should blow their brains out? Celebrating any cop that dies? It's just incredibly immature and so far out of touch, it puts me off from them completely.

 

it's hard to support an establishment that's inherently racist, so...

 

Not saying there are not issues. But statements that echo celebrating ANY cop death, or wishing ALL cops blow their brains out is a big swing and a miss.

i thought the other person meant most of the band has changed since seeing them play formlessness, not that it's changed since those kinds of posts were frequent, my b

 

seriously, there's pretty much no scenario where publicly telling a fan of your band to "blow their brains out" over their job is okay
