No Future is better than San Diego? I may have to abandon thread

 

"No Future" did not make my "Bradley Version of California" track list. That was a pretty easy one to cut.

 

Yeah won't make mine I'm fairly certain

 

I think there really is a quantity over quality thing with all these songs, but I think that's down to how long everything took post reunion and the band getting to a good place with Matt. I'd echo Jason in saying that I hope blink got this sound/style off their chests and do something different next time (Crimson + WYHSB seems like such a no brainer!).

I also don't envy blink and their position, getting music released was a cluster fuck of empty promises since the reunion and fans started getting annoyed, so now they seem to be trying really hard to counter that perception (probably at the cost of quality to an extent).

I also don't have the same issue with co-writes that a lot seem to - I do think it's the time spent on songs that's the issue. Writing a song in less than hour probably isn't a good thing in most cases!

I'm also really happy that blink-182 seem to be in a really good place and making a shed load of music!

 

I forgot TV was a thing until Jason shared that. I'll go back to forgetting that now.

 

TV and Strings are just the worstttt

 

I think Strings is definitely worse than TV.

 

M&M's is really good though. Pretty good shit in 1995

 

Yeah I mean I find it hard to dislike a blink song, but I forgot they existed so that's probably my version of disliking them

Like 90% of everything they did pre Dude Ranch is the worst. Haha. Most of those songs are bad.

If it weren't for "Carousel" I probably would never listen to anything from those albums again lol

 

the only early songs I really go back to are Carousel, M+M's, Wasting Time, Peggy Sue, and 21 Days.

 

What is happening???? Peggy Sue? Toast and Bananas??? Romeo and Rebecca? Touchdown Boy?

 

I've always liked Peggy Sue. Helps it's pretty fun to play along to.

Finally listened to DXL on way to work this morn
I dig. Can't say I'm completely moved
By anything outside I'm Sorry which we all knew well
But I really like the chances taken at the arse end of the album. And am just pretty stoked in general to have new blink tunes 10montjs later

Yup same here. Those 4 songs are so good. I like Toast and Bananas too.

Pre-Dude is pretty much just Carousel, M&M's, Peggy Sue, Romeo and Rebecca for me

 

I always wanted blink to bring back the fast guitar parts.

 

Pre-Dude really isn't that bad. It sounds a zillian times better than anything Neck Deep has done.
