I'm pretty okay with the Blount signing. Glad that it's just one year. I'm content even if he scores only half the amount of TDs he did last season. I'm sure that was a case of being a clear leader at RB at rushing and having Tom Brady leading the offense to get to the end zone so many times. Hopefully the Eagles' offense can help Blount be productive and visa versa

He is honestly my number one priority. Gives our team something a lot of teams don't have - upper 4.3 speed at the LB position and the ability to apply that in pass coverage. While still having no problem navigating interior run gaps in the trenches.

He's also a CLEAR emotional leader of the defense, and his close friendship with Jalen Ramsey is really important - having Smith could be the only reason Ramsey might have enough loyalty despite his talent to re-sign in Jax. If we lost Smith I feel like Ramsey DEFINITELY would move on to a better franchise and a better city after four years, and there goes both our best defensive players. We need to keep that FSU brotherhood on our defense.

Next in line is Brandon Linder, who is our only truly good lineman until Cann and Cam prove themselves... then the WRs, preferably keep all three but if not cut Hurns and resign Lee and Robinson.

 

Then, after maybe another WR and longsnapper, they could look for a franchise QB.

 

I'd rather wait that long than rush into another Bortles all over again. At least the current version of Bortles is a project that can be Abortled.

 

Luckily, next year's draft has so much potential for Bortles-esque guys.

 

Funny cause this year was Bortles lol. Next year is actual good prospects.

 

Can't wait till next year's draft when we all hear about how the Bills should pass on Sam Darnold because next year we'll have Chris Sassafrass declaring and it's a much better class anyway

I just don't get why you guys decided to invent the whole "they say this every year." Like, can you guys not fathom that maybe every year isn't amazing and perfect?

 

Because they DO say it every year hahaha. Like, I get it that every year isn't amazing, but it doesn't change the fact that it's said every single year.

 

A LOT can change in one college year.

 

I don't think any team goes into a draft thinking "let's pass on this guy because next year has a better player at the same position". If there is a guy they like they take him.

 

The point is that this far out from the draft everyone only sees the strengths in QB prospects especially as they haven't examined closely enough to see their flaws. And yes they literally say next year's QB prospects will be better at the time of the draft every. single. year.

 

They actually don't. Who said the Bucs have to pass on Winston? The Colts on Luck? Panthers on Cam? Etc....

 

A lot of people said the Panthers should pass on Cam and the Bucs should pass on Winston. Luck was the exception. People were saying you shouldn't draft Cam and wait next year for Luck. People were saying Goff was a better prospect than Winston, etc.

 

Sources? I'd like to see the remarkable amount of people saying that the Panthers and Bucs need to pass because of the strength of the upcoming class.
