*naively hoping for a leak today*

 

I can't handle square feet either, so i put it in a calculazor. In qm my app is 30, so I still win:D
But to be honest, it is more than enough for me and I got a big ass balcony.

@Zeke yep that is pretty much true. I was lucky though, I found my app through the friend of a friend.

Rents in Munich are crazy, because the city is growing so much and prospering. You guys should all come and visit me though, it is nice :p

 

I'm actually Stuttgart in September for a wedding. So probs swing by The Mun for Oktoberfest

A little, but given who is playing and what not, not completely a surprise I expected them to be outrageous prices

 

I actually don't have an issue with how expensive the actual show ticket is. It makes sense in this case, but the VIP packages are insulting and inexcusable. There's a point when you've gotta admit that charging people hundreds of dollars to "meet" you, whether it comes with dinner or not, is an egotistical cash grab. I don't have a problem with artists making money from their art. Put your songs in all the commercials and movies you want, sell strawberry lube for all I care. But hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars (for some artists) for a photo and the opportunity to spend 10 or 15 minutes with you just because you're famous is something else entirely. I know that it wouldn't happen if people weren't willing to pay for it but to me it's a "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" kind of thing.

I had never heard of them.

Question for all you industry-savy cats out there; back in the old days record would leak weeks and sometimes months in advance (which sucked for bands, ofcourse) but these days it's usually a day or two before the release date. What changed?

 

I mean I'm sure it's the labels call. Idk what they could do. Threaten to quit? I guess just hope that nobody buys them at that price. It reminds me of Steiner Sports, the guy that is in charge of New York Yankees memorabilia. It would cost 750 dollars if I wanted to send in the crappiest baseball card for Derek Jeter to sign. It's insane. But the price never has dropped so people are willing to pay that.

If people will pay for it, someone's going to sell it. You're not wrong about it being a gross amount of money. I know I wouldn't in any case lol.

 

i can't think of any human being I would pay that much to get an autograph from or to meet for ten minutes lol I know that's important to some people though so that's why that option even gets put out there.

I agree it's a bit over the top but man, imagine being the bands that make money off of that. Charge whatever you want and if people don't buy it, you aren't even out any money. If even one person buys the VIP package, you just made hundreds of dollars by taking a photo and shaking someone's hand. Haha.

 

They could at least try to look happy in those meet-and-greet photos. Very rarely do they ever smile.

 

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong my meet and greet with them back in August was amazing; the three of them are super happy, laid back, grateful and cool dudes and that 20 minutes and getting to talk to them in a very small group, get things signed, thank them for the music of my life etc. will stay with me forever and I wouldn't trade it.

But if it hadn't been a gift from my boss, I'd never been able to afford that for Me and the missus. Way out of our price range for one of those VIPs let alone two. By a huge margin lol.

 

The idea of paying money to meet somebody or to take a picture with them has never sat well with me. If that money gets donated to charity, then cool, I might consider it more. But that's hardly ever the case.
