"This is what I mean" - I honestly don't know what you mean. haha. I literally can't see a post in the last couple of pages that points to what you are talking about. If anything, everyone is talking about how they aren't into the band as much anymore and VERY few people have been supportive of the new song. Like...almost none of us here are blindly sticking up for the band.

 

False. No one here minds criticizing or making fun of them, that isn't the point. Thy aren't perfection gods, and that's part of the fun. What people, and yes I know me in this category, are getting at is its kind of grating when it's either all someone does, or when it's unwarranted. Popdisaster started a harmless joke of a question, which this thread kind of needs after the depressing way it's been going, and then a reply like that comes along. I get it, I do, but that's low quality of a post when it contributes literally jack all to anything but to say something bashing. No one was critiquing the band in that line of posting.

I think that was a pretty lighthearted video. I haven't really seen any vitriol or depressing things in this thread. Just differing opinions on music

It's no more "low quality" or "unwarranted" than saying something to the effect of "this is awesome" or whatever. If you really want to call out all the substanceless posts, maybe stop pretending only the negative ones fit in that category. And it isn't just this situation either, I read like eight pages last night and there's plenty of defensiveness in response to people criticizing the band. So I just don't know what to tell you or that other dude who claims that's not happening.

 

I don't even really think anyone has been "bashing" this band. I mean yeah some people say dumb things but most criticism has essentially been "I used to love this band, I know they can do better than this". That's a fair opinion to have and those people deserve to share their views without being shut down by fan boys.

 

I'm still upset that they didn't change the band name to blink-183 when Matt joined.

 

And I agree on this. I really don't mean to come across that discussion and debate isn't good. It's one of the beautiful parts of music, everyone has varying tastes and can debate such a great art form. All I am saying is popping in just say "this is garbage" is kind of annoying. Heck, if someone comes in and says "this song is bad because x,y,z." I am all for that. But "this is garbage because they're garbage" is kind of off putting. That is literally all I am saying.

 

I feel like I've stated why I don't like the songs in a pretty coherent, easy to understand way

You just said "See, this is what I mean" which infers something like that happened in the time since your last post. But no recent discussion has been defending the band? As I keep saying, almost everyone in this thread has been critical of the new songs. I guess I just don't see what the gripe is.

 

It was that post where someone started questioning whether that personalized song joke was "necessary"

 

You can apparently pre-save the album to Spotify... not sure what that means

 

i guess so it automatically pops up into your saved spotify music. doesn't really affect much though because all you'd need to do otherwise is just search for it... ha. if that's even what that means.

 

I believe in each of these dudes as songwriters, so I'll keep coming back to what they release. I don't believe in Feldmann though and I think his production and techniques (the hurry up and write method) are total junk.

So California and the deluxe are a miss for me, by I'm hoping they change it up and go with someone else next time around.

I can understand this. I think Cali and it's DLX are great and I thank them and Feldy for that; but I agree that I'd like to see what they could come up with when not in the hurry up and write method. Some of these songs may have ended up even better perhaps. Hopefully with LP8 they take a bit of time crafting so they can outshine this(and that's coming from someone who liked what we got).,
