he is and he is EXACTLY the same. same abilities, his passive is wallriding, only difference is his other ult is basically a reverse of his normal ult in that it damages enemies or something

 

Oh damn. Definitely interested now. Lucio is my favorite character to play (especially after the recent buff) in OW. 1v1ing dps has become my new favorite move in matches.

 

yeah i like playing an aggressive lucio in both games. his damage isnt quite as great in HoTS but talents can kinda help there, but in OW he can be a monster. It also helps that I genuinely enjoy him as a character and I love his whole aesthetic and this idea of using music and beats to heal or harm.

 

Gotcha. He'll help ease me into HOTS, since all I've ever done is the like first training mission as Raynor a couple years back.

Yeah, Lucio is awesome. I prefer support when I play seriously and love his boops. Knocking away a Mei freezing a teammate and then rushing everyone away to heal up is just fun. I using music/beats to heal and be obnoxious, but the one issue is I don't tend to like many of his outfits. I pretty much haven't changed since getting uh the silver frog outfit, hippity hop, i think?

 

yeah i use hippity hop too but i like the hockey ones as well. hopefully if this anniversary stuff is true we'll get a new legendary for him

I'm hoping for some new legendary outfit. Not really into hockey, so those outfits don't much interest me.

Ahh. I know only of a few esports teams, none that dropped OW teams, probably the bigger ones.

Not sure I like the pay to play in the league thing, but is that normal? I'm pretty naive when it comes to esports.

Holy crap that is a lot of money, especially for a fledgling league.

 

I'm only speaking of the smite league that I follow but the basic format is that 16 teams are allowed from both NA/EU. I'll focus on those instead of the other 3 or 4 regions.

The only way to lose your spot in the SPL(Smite Pro League) is through relegations which happen after every split or get kicked off a team in the league. Smite also has a minor league system(Challenger Cup) that earns a spot at relegations. You can make it to the SPL without a sponsor/organization or you can do it with one.

The problem that Smite has been trying to figure out who to give the spot to when it comes to a breakup of team/org. They've had cases where they awarded the spot to players/teams or an actual organization.

The other problem in Smite has been organizations have been super shady sometimes. There have been times where esports organizations have ether had super low pay to the players or not even payed them at all. I do like that Blizzard has been trying to fix that with the new league but the price of entry also seems super high.

The Smite league sounds like it's based around soccer, with the relegation thing anyway. Interesting.

If the OW league ever gets off the ground, I'd be willing to follow it. I did enjoy watching the World Cup thing.

 

Been playing a lot of sombra recently and I never really realised how great she can actually be. Hacking d.Va is my new favourite thing, she is so weak without her defense matrix bc of her hitbox.

i hope one day the Overwatch community realizes that tier lists and meta arent really that important given that most of us arent competitive players because I'm tired of watching Sombras and Junkrats and Torbjorns getting flamed even though theyre doing just fine. I've literally heard and seen people flat out LIE just to shit on people that play those heroes. One guy last night kept saying that the Sombra on our team was useless so I tabbed and saw that the Sombra was on fire, when I pointed this out the guy then started flaming me because I was playing Lucio for some reason.

On a brighter note this anniversary event stuff sounds fun I hope the rumors are true and we get Doomfist

Any attack character is actually really useless when hacked I've noticed, it's like they can't function without their abilities in a 1vs1 lol

 

Just wanna take a sec and give a shoutout to all the artists that have made some incredible fan made heroes and skins. The heroes in particular are impressive and some of them (Zameen cough cough) deserve to be in the game. Seriously, if you haven't yet go to the OWfancreation subreddit to just do a google image search to see all the incredible stuff people have made.

Oh and looks like Tuesday is the day for this anniversary thing to kick off. I think I read somewhere that it's supposed to end like first week of June or something so that gives us 3 weeks which sounds about right

 

This happens every time an event is coming, MS needs to be better at not leaking shit.
